We started Crader Studios because of a familiar feeling: a full wardrobe and nothing to wear. A coat that never quite hangs right. A sweater that looked soft in the photos and turned scratchy in the wash. Trousers that fit in the shop and not on a Tuesday morning.

Our vision is the opposite of that. A short list of clothes for men and women, chosen slowly, kept for a long time, and worn with things you already own rather than instead of them.

We also keep the list short on purpose. When something new comes in, something else goes out. It means we have fewer products than most shops our size, and that is the point: every piece here is here because we would pick it ourselves, not because it was available.

We would rather sell you one thing you reach for every week than five things you keep meaning to wear.

Sizing is where most of online clothing goes wrong, so we handle it differently. Most product pages carry a full measurement table in centimetres, taken flat on the garment itself: chest, length, shoulder, sleeve, waist and inseam, and a line telling you whether the piece is cut regular, relaxed or oversized.

Use those numbers rather than your usual letter. Lay out something you already own and like, measure it flat, and compare. It takes two minutes and it is the single best thing you can do to avoid a return.
